1. What Ushuru is

Ushuru AI helps you reconcile and file your KRA income-tax return over WhatsApp. We are an independent assistance service and are not the KRA, a registered tax agent acting as your representative (unless separately agreed in writing), or a provider of legal or accounting advice. You remain the taxpayer legally responsible for your return.

2. Your responsibilities

• Give accurate, complete information and genuine KRA documents.
• Review every figure we present before you approve filing — nothing is submitted without your explicit confirmation.
• Only file for a PIN you own or are authorised to act for.
• Pay any tax, penalties or interest owed to KRA directly; our fee is separate from your tax.

3. How filing works

We parse your documents, compute your position (including grossing up withheld income that KRA’s records imply), and show you the result. We only submit a return after you review and confirm it. We will never invent figures or claim undocumented expenses on your behalf.

4. Fees & payment

Reconciling your position is free. Filing is charged at the fee shown on our pricing page, payable by M-Pesa or PayPal (PayPal charged in USD). You pay only when you choose to file. We request payment only after you have clearly agreed to pay and to file, and confirmed the amount.

5. Refunds

If a filing fails on our side and cannot be completed, we will re-attempt it or refund that filing fee. We can’t refund tax, penalties, or interest payable to KRA, or fees for returns that were successfully filed.

6. No guarantee of outcome

We work to file accurately and on time and to surface savings such as the 2026 amnesty, but we do not guarantee any particular tax outcome, refund, or that KRA will accept a submission. Tax rules and KRA systems can change.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ushuru is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the filing in question. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use Ushuru to commit fraud, file for someone without authority, or submit false information. We may suspend or decline service where we reasonably suspect misuse.

9. Privacy

Your data is handled per our Privacy Policy, in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

10. Changes, governing law & contact
